Tommy was first introduced to the glass industry during the summer of his junior year in High School where he worked as an installer helper with a glass company in Tucker, Georgia. He worked there during his senior year and after he graduated. Shortly thereafter he went to work at PPG Industries in Atlanta at their distribution center and learned many facets of the glass and aluminum industry. During this time he also attended DeKalb Technical College. In 1978 he moved on to a smaller wholesale manufacturer of glass products. In 1980 he worked on the selling side of the aluminum storefront, curtainwall and windows with Aldora Aluminum Products and Vistawall. Growing weary of the corporate atmosphere he landed at a local glass company where he was an estimator / project manager until 1993 when he founded SSi. Today he oversees the operation of the company and maintains relationships with General Contractors and Architects with whom they have worked over the years.
